The Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO) simultaneously held high-level consultation and coordination meetings for members of the Legislative Liason System (LLS) at the Diamond Hotel Philippines, City of Manila, 22 August 2024.
The activity serves as a follow through on the Legislative Advocacy Action Planning Workshop of the LLS held on July 11-12, which focused on strategizing the twenty-eight (28) legislative measures included in the Presidential Legislative Agenda (PLA) and the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) Common Legislative Agenda (CLA) for the 19th Congress.
Among the key agreements during the workshop was to convene high-level meetings to further discuss and refine specific measures. The first batch of these high-level meetings are the bills on:
1. Amendments to the Philippine Immigration Act
2. Rationalization of the Mining Fiscal Regime
3. Amendments to the Right-of-Way Act
Undersecretary Bernardino Sayo of the PLLO-Senate outpost actively participated in the discussions and relayed the issues and queries in the Senate.
