The Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO) conducted the Ugnayan sa Batasan: The PLLO Interface with House of Representatives Chiefs of Staff at the Novotel Manila, Araneta City, Cubao, Quezon City, 16 August 2024.
Part of the mandate of the PLLO is to effectively intervene in promoting the legislative initiatives of the President in Congress. As such, it is imperative to establish continuous harmonious relationships with partners and embark in alternative approach in carrying out its advocacy efforts in shepherding the Presidential Legislative Agenda (PLA).
In his speech, PLLO-HREP Outpost Undersecretary Agapito Guanlao thanked the members of the Association of Congressional Chiefs-of-Staff (ACCOS) for efficiently cooperating with the PLLO, which resulted in the efficient passage of the bills included in the PLA and the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) Common Legislative Agenda (CLA).
In response, Ms. Noreen Gonzaga and Atty. Danrex Joseph Tapdasan, ACCOS President and Chairperson respectively, expressed their willingness to continuously and effectively work together with the Executive department through the PLLO in legislating measures that will uplift the lives of Filipinos.
Director Rickee Gerald Brieva apprised the attendees of the status and other updates regarding the measures included in the PLA and CLA.
On behalf of Secretary Mark Llandro Mendoza, Assistant Secretary Rose Virginie Iñigo reiterated the gratefulness of PLLO for their steadfast commitment in collaborating with the Executive branch in passing into law relevant legislations, especially those inclined in pushing the economic agenda of the Administration.
