As part of the series of activities lined up for the 2024 National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC), the Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO) conducted a semianr-workshop entitled Moving On 101: Rights and Roles of Women Today in Domestic and Professional Environment at the Diamond Hotel Philippines, Manila, 15 March 2024.
Assistant Secretary Rose Virginie B. Iñigo, in her message, commended the women officials and employees of the PLLO. Asec. Iñigo also emphasized the need for a collective action from everyone in addressing gender-based issues and women empowerment.
The discussion, led by Justice Maria Elisa Sempio Diy, Chairperson, 15th Division of the Court of Appeals, centered on what to do after break-up, nullity of marriage, separation, violence, retirement in the workplace, cohabitation without benefit of marriage, breach of promise to mary, among other legal rights.
Justice Sempio Diy discussed the salient points and technicalities of the topics as provided under the law, including the proposed Divorce bill. PLLO officials and employees actively participated in the seminar, especially during the open forum and workshop.
