A day before the start of the 2024 National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC), the Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO) Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS), headed by Secretary Mark Llandro Mendoza, conducted Verba Legis 101: Capacity-Building Seminar for Legislative Liaison System (LLS) and Technical Working Group (TWG) Members on Use of Gender-Fair and Inclusive Language in Legislations and other Executive Issuances at the Luxent Hotel in Quezon City, 29 February 2024.
House of Representatives (HREP) Deputy Secretary General, Atty. Annalou S. Nachura served as the guest speaker and workshop facilitator for the morning session, which focused on use of gender-fair and inclusive language in legislations, including bills and resolutions.
Meanwhile, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Undersecretary for Finance, Information Systems and Climate Change, Atty. Analiza Rebuelta-Teh served as the guest speaker and workshop facilitator for the afternoon session, which focused on mainstreaming GAD in executive issuances such as implementing rules and regulations, department orders, and memoranda.
The GAD event was attended by around 200 participants, including members of LLS of various offices in the Executive branch, HREP and Senate Secretariat, legislative staff of Senators, and PLLO officials and staff.
