President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has signed into law Republic Act No. 11962, also known as the “Trabaho para sa Bayan” Act, in a ceremony held at the Kalayaan Hall, Malacañan Palace, 27 September 2023.
R.A. 11962 institutionalizes and expands the national employment recovery and job generation master plan, intended to stimulate national and local economic growth and development by promoting investment, particularly in micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). In turn, it is expected to create decent employment and promote the competitiveness, wellness and productivity of workers.
The Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO), headed by Secretary Mark Llandro Mendoza, together with other officials and staff, spearheaded the said ceremonial signing. PLLO conducted several Focus Group Discussions (FGD) to serve as bridge between the Executive and Legislative branches of government and address the questions and issues raised by the legislators and other stakeholders.
